Memorial Day 2014

Each year someone from our family grooms the Kubiatowicz grave sites at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna, MN.  Located here are the Andrew Kubiatowicz site, Uncle Steve Kubiatowicz site and Uncle Martin Kubiatowicz site. Grooming entails washing and clipping the grass around the monuments and head & foot stones and adding a fresh geranium to an in-ground stand.   The grooming began with my grandfather Andrew (immigrant from Poland) who died in 1955 and his wife Margaret, his brothers and their wives, my dad and mom Eugene and Mary and my brother Jim and me (your Humble Blogger).  Jim has since moved away, so the duty is left with son Joe and me. The geraniums are on their own at the mercy of Nature during the summer months, but at least they look good on Memorial Day.
